Mother Love has received numerous awards and recognition throughout her career for her excellence in community service, philanthropy and leadership including: the 2012 Distinguished Citizens Award from the Black Employees Association; the Community Service Award by The Smith Family of Pasadena/ Altadena; ADA's Spirit Award in 2011; the 2010 USC Annenberg School of Journalism and Communications; and the 2009 Living History Makers Award from Turning Point, Inc. Women in Business also honored her with The Most Inspirational Woman of 2010; and she has been the ADA's Volunteer of the Year multiple times. She is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Inc.

Mother Love was honored with the 2010 USC Anneburg School of Journalism and Communications History Makers Award, 2009 C.H.A.P. award for Community Service, She was the recipient of the American Diabetes Association's Volunteer of the Year for 2008, 2007 Living History Makers Award in Arts & Entertainment, the 2006 Women of Courage Award for her work with Diabetes presented by Los Angeles affiliate ABC7. She received the 2005 Eli Lily for Life Award for Excellence in Journalism and the 2005 Urban Leadership International Urban Angel Award for her excellence in community service and philanthropy leadership. She has received many other awards, citations and commendations from organizations, local and state officials nationwide.
