The objective of  Fillin' the Blanks is to provide a reliable service to you during the pre and post adoption stage.  Preparing for your new child takes more then paperwork and setting up the room. How do you cope with the stresses of the new household ?

As an adoptive mom of two our family of three grew to a family of five in an instant in 2005.

Because I remember the days I cried my eyes out. The loneliness, the questions–if it weren’t for my small band of friends becoming my “makeshift adoption support group” I wouldn’t have made it. The process  was tough and putting the many pieces of adoption together is overwhelming. Making any part of the process easier for you is my goal. So I decided to create adoption support and a safe haven for other families taking this journey.  I want to help you prepare for the stresses of the household that will be.  Choices that will empower you and help you find the best solutions for fine tuning your families life BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the adoption process ~ helping you have a strong base from the beginning.

About me. 17 years ago I took the most difficult walk of my life – through the doors of a local treatment centre. I found in recovery what I'd been searching for in alcohol and drugs. Growing up in an alcoholic home I understand first-hand, the importance of a healthy family. I'm also an author, mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, foster parent, counselor, sister and friend. I am passionate about helping others to recover from the effects of addiction. I hope the honesty found in my books and on my blog, will inspire addicts and their families to reach out for help. I want people to know there is hope! I'm telling...on addiction!
